Sharanpur is a  city, an urban centre established in Mughal Era, is located in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city has earned fame for its huge Muslim community and hand carved wooden handicrafts. The city is world over famous for its wood carving cottage industry, and presently it is one of the flourishing cities of the state. Agricultural activities in the city mainly involve growing of mangoes and Basmati rice.
