Patiala is an Indian city in southeastern Punjab, in northern India. Patiala district is one of the famous cities of erstwhile Punjab. Patiala is located around the Qila Mubarak. It was constructed by militiamen Sardar Lakhna and Baba Ala Singh in 1763.
In popular culture, the city remains famous for its traditional turban (headgear), paranda (tasseled tag for braiding hair), Patiala salwar (female trousers), and jutti (footwear).
