Kaushambi is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh state of India, and Manjhanpur town is the district headquarters. Kaushambi district is a part of Allahabad Division. Kosambi was one of the greatest cities in India from the late Vedic period until the end of Maurya Empire with occupation continuing until the Gupta Empire. As a small town, it was established in the late Vedic period. Kosambi was a very prosperous city by the time of Gautama Buddha, where a large number of wealthy merchants resided. It was an important entrepot of goods and passengers from north-west and south. It figures very prominently in the accounts of the life of Buddha. Kosambi was a fortified town with an irregular oblong plan. The Buddhist commentarial scriptures give two reasons for the name Kausambi/Kosambī. Kaushambi, a part of the planned industrial city of Ghaziabad, is an industrially planned and well developed region. The Buddha visited Kosambī on several occasions, stopping at one or other of these residences, and several discourses delivered during these visits are recorded in the books.

By Road :- Anand Vihar ISBT is the main source of roadways travelling for kaushambi. It is situated in the same complex which holds the anand vihar railway terminal and the anand vihar metro station. Buses for travelling locally and for interstate travel can easily be boarded from there. Buses for further travelling can be boarded from the kaushambi bus terminal. By Rail :- The railway station closed to kaushambi, is the anand vihar railway terminal which handles all the east – bound trains from delhi. It situated just adjacent to theAnand Vihar Metro Station. The terminal being at a distance of less than 2 km, is mostly used by the locals of the Kaushambi area.
By Air :- The city has Hindon Airbase as a prominent airfield, but the base is reserved for the military.

By Metro :- Transportation infrastructure is quite varied in the area as it has the feasibility of Delhi Metro with the Kaushambi Metro Station being situated there. It is an elevated metro station located on the branch line of the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro in Ghaziabad. It is part of a 2.57 km extension from Anand Vihar station. It was made functional on 14 July 2011 with 200 parking spaces to cater to commuters in the vicinity.
