Greater Noida is a census town with a population of 100,000 in the Gautam Budh Nagar district of the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It comes under the purview of the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. Greater Noida is 48 km and one hour from New Delhi. Rama Raman is its present Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Metro connectivity from New Delhi to Greater Noida is on top priority as per statement of Rama Raman. Looking into the dire need of improving the transport system of the city, the work will be started by May 2014. Greater Noida West previously knows as Noida extension is a part of Greater Noida, in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh and consists of 16 villages. All sectors under Noida Extension (Sector 1 to 4) are very much a part of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). As of late 2012, plans are being formed to rename it to Greater Noida (West). This area was primarily envisioned to provide planned housing for about a million middle and upper middle class citizens in the NCR region. In the early 1980s the government of India realized that the rapid rate at which Delhi was expanding would result in chaos, so they planned to develop residential and industrial areas around the capital to reduce the demographic burden. Before Greater Noida, there were two areas that had been developed—Gurgaon, across the border from Haryana, and Noida, across the border with Uttar Pradesh.

How To Reach Greater Noida.
By Road :- The city is deliberately located almost at a distance of 25 km from New Delhi. This beautiful city is well connected by a DND Flyover and the newly developed 6-lane Expressway which now makes it easy to reach Greater-Noida. The city is well linked to Kolkata by GT Road. A sixty meter wide road from industrial sector Ecotech- III to NH-24 is also provides access to NH-24 from Greater Noida.
By Rail :- New Delhi station is almost an hour far from Greater-Noida and the other railway station is located at Boraki on Delhi-Kolkata line which also provides swift access to South Delhi and Noida.
By Air :- Greater-Noida can be easily visited via airways as the Taj International Airport is located in the Greater-Noida. And another nearest airport is located in Delhi known as Indira Gandhi International airport. This airport operates direct flight services and connects major parts with Great Noida.
